Dave Murray

When Dave Murray was named Chief Meteorologist for KTVI, FOX 2 in 1989, he came full circle by returning to the city where his broadcasting career began in 1976. Viewers and colleagues alike applauded his return as is evidenced by his popularity and the ten Emmy Awards he has won since then for best weathercaster bringing his total number of Emmys to 12. This year, 2006 30 years of forecasting the weather for the St. Louis area.

Nationwide, viewers got to know Dave from 1983 to 1985 on ABC Morning America and News This Morning where he was Chief Meteorologist.iphone 5c refurbished  While at ABC he also was a meteorological consultant for News Tonight ABC Sports and on air weathercaster for the ABC Radio Network. After his work at ABC, Dave became Chief Meteorologist for WBZ TV in Boston and then moved back to his Midwestern roots in St. Louis.


Dave can be seen Monday through Friday on FOX 2 News at 5, 5:30, 6, and 9. He also reports special features for FOX 2 such as the Spotlight holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and was the first meteorologist weathercaster on the nightly TV news in St. Louis. He has served as Chairman of the AMS Broadcast Meteorology Board, as an advisor to the Board, and is a member of the National Weather Association.iphone 5c refurbished  In 1999, Dave was the first weathercaster to ever receive the Quest Award from the St. Louis Chapter of the National Federation of Press Women.

Dedicated to helping children understand and enjoy science, Dave has given guided weather center tours to thousands of boy scouts and girl scouts over the past ten years. He is active with the United Way, the Asthma Allergy Foundation, the Humane Society and the St. Louis Science Center.  After a short break on Friday into the steam heat and humidity for the entire weekend few pop storms possible much of the time is rain and storm free cooler next week . ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) We in for an interesting afternoon of weather in the St. Louis area. There is a severe thunderstorm watch until 8pm tonight. It runs from the city of St. Louis to points north and northwest. Isolated thunderstorms should continue throughout the afternoon. The main event is on the Iowa border right now. A bow echo of severe weather is coming right at us.
